Made in Dagenham

In the Summer term, the Seniors put on an impressive performance of Made in Dagenham. A massive thank you to OLs Wolfe Foy (2015-2022) and Louis Villard (2012-2022) for bringing such enthusiasm to the show as part of the cast and to Jenna Tallant (2010-2021) for her backstage support. It was certainly a memorable production for all!

Change first sentence to – In the Summer term, the Seniors put on an impressive performance of Made in Dagenham. A massive thank you to OLs Wolfe Foy (2015-2022) and Louis Villard (2012-2022) for bringing such enthusiasm to the show as part of the cast and to Jenna Tallant (2010-2021) for her backstage support. It was certainly a memorable production for all!

When asked why Drama is so important to him, Wolfe said: “Drama gives everyone a creative outlet, a way to express themselves in a safe space and to gain confidence.”

Louis added: “Drama is such a multi-skill activity. In a production, you’re practising skills ranging from teamwork to organisation and public speaking to sound engineering.”

Jenna also shared her love of Drama with us: ”Everyone is just so ready to get into it, embracing their more ‘goofy’ sides! I’ll always remember the support from Mrs Williams, and now it’s great to see all of the pupils who went through school with me getting involved (including my brother!). I’ve missed it, and it’s amazing to be back."

Mrs Williams was delighted to be enlisting the help of some familiar faces: "It was wonderful welcoming back Wolfe and Louis to perform in the production this year. I am so grateful to them for sharing their talents, dedication and leadership of the younger pupils; they provided such inspiration to our rising stars and they made such a difference to the dynamics of the performance."

It wasn't just the fabulous acting talents of our OLs that Mrs Williams celebrated: "This is the second year Jenna has returned to be a part of our backstage team and she was amazing. Incredibly organised and efficient, she managed the very tricky transitions backstage so adeptly and, again, showed amazing leadership with the pupils, instilling calm and confidence in them so they could focus on what they needed to do on stage. Unfortunately, she has now made herself indispensable so she must return every year!"
